MORPHIC Mugshot: J's Foxy Locks

Long, straight locks get new highlights!

I often get clients who said they found me specifically looking for a stylist who knows how to work with Asian hair. At this point, I’m so used to doing it, I don’t even hesitate!

I know that Asian hair is going to pull red when the color is lifted out. It also takes a while to lift that super dark hair! If you have Asian hair and want a dramatic ombre, it's probably going to take two services to achieve the look you want.

This Morphic beauty (we'll call her J) was ready to change it up and go a little blonder!  It's the second round of balayage highlights I've done for her, and this time we added layers to the all-one-length hair J has had for a couple of years.

I love J's glamrock foxy locks! The blonder balayage highlights turned out so well.

Are you ready to lighten your super-dark hair yet?

MORPHIC Mugshot: M's Glossy Mane

IMG_8378.jpg

When my new client M sat in my chair, she was immediately open to doing whatever I thought best. Love that open mind!

When I looked at her hair, I noticed she could use some color correction. The bottom back section of her hair was a dark reddish brown, with highlights on top that were too light, creating a dramatic two-toned effect. There were also som faded, ashy blond tones that had turned a bit greenish. My taste is more bended and transitional, less disconnected. I do like contrast, but M’s hair just felt a little dated. That needed to get addressed!

I started with an-old school bleach bath. This is a quick process at the shampoo bowl to snap the faded, drab blond back to bright and pretty in seconds. This technique alone was a big improvement! We started in on a full highlight, using two different bleach mixtures to get the right levels of lift, while inflicting as little damage as possible. The next day, we followed up with  a clear gloss and a deep conditioning power dose to seal the deal!

M is obviously gorgeous and her attitude is so cool, she needed her hair to match! I am loving the results of her glossy, glamorous mane.

MORPHIC Mugshot: S is for Short & Sassy

S and I go way back.

She was my first client in San Francisco!  She was actually my hair model for the interview into a former salon I worked with. She is a very special person at Morphic that I will gladly bend over backwards for!

In the 8 years I've seen her, we've never done the same thing twice. She’s so pretty that I can’t possibility make her look bad!  However, we often reminisced over the short styles we had done in the early days.

Recently, we took her super straight hair back to short and sassy, and it looks great! Such amazing texture!

MORPHIC Mugshot: N's Beachy Ombre

BEACHY SURFER BABES?

Here in San Francisco, I have a whole crew of beachy surfer babes! After all that wind and salt water, they usually come in with some fairly thrashed hair that needs serious care. But with Morphic's fabulous help, N. is enjoying the best hair that she has had in a long time! The ombre is working perfectly! She loves being darker but feels that she needs the light as well. It gives her some blond, without needing too frequent touch-ups, so her hair stays protected. It's the ying and yang of hair care!

This session, we did a tint touch up, toner/glossing, my deep conditioning L’oreal Professionel Power Dose, along with a healthy cut.  Voila!
