We had a blast working with the team at Oh Happy Day on their Mod Party in celebration of Banana Republic’s Mad Men Collection for Spring 2013. Mishi rocked out classic 60s dos creating a masterpiece of Marilyn's, beehives and renditions of Raquel Welch’s voluminous locks. I had my play time with the makeup by recreating bombshell Christian Hendricks sultry eyes, poppy cheeks and lips. Get the look by checking out our how-to hair tutorial.
Rene Furterer
There is much for us to be proud of including our trusted product line by creator Rene Furterer, who began in the 1950s in his career as a hair dresser. Motivated to come up with a solution to the a constant stream of gals with over-processed hair that resulted from constant bleaching to achieve Marilyn’s coveted locks, Furterer pioneered the art of recreating beautiful hair using the curative elements of plant based ingredients. Furterer built the foundation of his product like based on the idea that “beautiful hair grows from a healthy scalp like a plant in fertile soil”. Harnessing the nourishing and restoring properties of essential oils and plant extracts, Furterer created a pharmaceutical grade product line customizable to every condition of hair.
In 1980, Rene Furterer partnered with Pierre Fabre Laboratories a pharmaceutical company as a way to bring the quality of ingreditents to be some of the finest in the world in phyto-cosmetology. Today Rene Furterer salons and products can be found around the world...Morphic being one of the them. If you ever get a chance you must check out the Rene Furterer Institute and Salon located in the heart of Paris!

Marilyn Hair Tutorial
Hair Movie Night is coming up again on Monday! Check out last month's video tutorial re-creating Marilyn Monroe's classic, glam style from the movie Some Like It Hot!
finding marilyn
The novel idea behind Mishi's Hair Movie Night began with her inspiration to master iconic hair of the century. Last week's viewing of Some Like It Hot was the real opening act to this week's clinical in re-creating Marilyn's look. While we had some challenges finding a bombshell blonde in a city full of brunettes, Esther Bengel walked into the studio ready to play the part. We couldn't have asked for a better beauty to work with. Mishi created a hair masterpiece with finger waves and pin curls. I enjoyed creating Marilyn style makeup with her signature red lips and sultry eyes, and Maple Porter staged the shoot with David Schanes capturing the moment behind the camera. Job well done team!
