Merria Dearman professionally designs and constructs custom wigs for people who suffer from hair loss due to alopecia or cancer treatments. She is an incredible artist and wonderful person who helps people make their everyday life a lot easier through her hair pieces. In this interview I did in New York back in October, you can see how real and honest she is- and you'll get a peek into the truly intimate nature of her life's work. Morphic is really excited about exclusively offering her product starting in early March.
Mel Ramos
Like many artists that emerged from the 60s, Mel Ramos is famous for celebrating aspects of popular culture as represented in mass media. He is best known for his voluptuous nude babes. I love him since he usually makes an effort to make sure the hair is as hot as their bodies. Ramos's work can be found at major exhibitions throughout the world and is currently being featured at Moderism Gallery here in SF. I've noticed some of his paintings dated as recent as 2013. I love that he has clearly kept up with the times by including balayage highlights into the style of the hair. Good work Ramos!

Hair Movie Night Gallery
hair movie night for 2013
Starting Monday January 28th, Morphic will be hosting regular movie night meet ups! What kind of movie, you ask? Hair movies, of course! We'll kick off the series with Marilyn Monroe's classic, "Some Like it Hot". The first Monday, (Jan. 28th) we'll watch the film and enjoy some house-made popcorn... and the following Monday (Feb. 4th) we'll practice Marilyn's iconic style. Bring your hairdresser friends, and your own model to practice your skills. (You can come practice on yourself, too!) The more the merrier. We'll also have a raffle drawing for free products! Bring drinks, pillows, or whatever else you feel like bringing for Morphic's first movie night. Come on by and check it out!
